The Most Wired Hospital award (five consecutive years in a row), upgrades their legacy Access Control system to Symmetry

PWith a track record of winning the Most Wired Hospital award five consecutive years in a row, it’s easy to understand why Henry County Health Center (HCHC) made the decision to abandon their legacy security system and upgrade to AMAG Technology’s Symmetry™ Professional Security Management System.

Located in Southeast Iowa, HCHC recently completed a state-of-the-art three-phase renovation and expansion project.  They built a new energy center, surgery center and laboratory and renovated the old surgery center, as well as remodeled many of the patient services areas to be more efficient, effective and attractive.  The building project was going to add 20 additional doors initially, with plans to add more shortly after. Walsh could see the medical center’s growing frustration with their existing Marlock system and suggested they upgrade to Symmetry.  The timing was perfect for them to make a change and upgrade to a security management system that would meet their needs today and grow with them in the future.

“HCHC was running out of room for access groups and couldn’t manage their system effectively,” said Walsh Electronic Security’s Division Manager, Kenton Straughn.  “We worked with HCHC’s IT department and recommended they upgrade to AMAG’s Symmetry Professional system.”

“AMAG’s Symmetry system is our go-to product for healthcare applications,” said Walsh Electronic Security’s Sales Manager, David Gutfreund.  “They needed a product that could easily be retrofitted with their old system and grow with them throughout this expansion and into the future.”
