Flexible system allows the college to install Symmetry in a phased approach

Located in Charlotte, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) is the largest community college in North Carolina, offering more than 200 degree, diploma, and certification programs to more than 75,000 students on six campuses. Employing a full-time faculty and staff of approximately 1,075 people, CPCC provides customized training solutions to over 550 businesses and over 5,000 employees and offers 10,000 different classes each year.

CPCC installed a security management system for three reasons:
1. To increase safety for students, faculty and staff
2. To add operational efficiencies
3. To reduce overall operational costs

An internal committee was formed by CPCC’s Project Lead Infrastructure, Patrick Dugan to make all decisions regarding the security of the six campuses. The committee selected Vuepoint Consulting to design an access control system for the entire community college.

AMAG Technology’s Symmetry™ Enterprise V7 Security Management System was selected to secure its six campuses. Security 101, an expert in providing integrated security systems that include access control, video, intrusion and central station monitoring, installed the system.
