AMAG Technology Demonstrates Latest Symmetry™ Security Management Solution at ASIS 2006

Torrance, CA (September 25, 2006) – AMAG Technology will be demonstrating its newest version of Symmetry Security Management Software (Version 6) at ASIS 2006. Customers can witness first hand the powerful new software features available in the Symmetry Professional and Symmetry Enterprise security management software packages including the Symmetry Video Management software.

Symmetry Video Solution

Symmetry Video Management software seamlessly integrates with intrusion and access control while operating on an open video management platform for video servers, digital video recorders and IP cameras. Coupled with the new Symmetry Edge Network Video Server (ENVS®) hardware, it provides an unmatched store and forward solution that saves valuable bandwidth.

Symmetry video supports up to 256 cameras.

Symmetry ENVS can be integrated with Symmetry family of access control panels and comes in ready to install packages. Symmetry ENVS contains 80 GBs of storage and sits at the edge of the LAN/WAN. Users can store and forward recorded activity on demand, and archive at off peak times. Symmetry ENVS motion detection provides alarm notification and motion recording.

A Symmetry ENVS video digital signature ensures that video recorded at an ENVS cannot be modified. The secure AES encrypted digital signature is checked and immediate notification communicated if the video has been tampered with.

Symmetry video management software provides an exceptional solution for the recording of video-based intrusion and access control events, while reducing network stress by decreasing bandwidth required during peak operating times.

Symmetry XML Developers Kit

AMAG offers the Symmetry XML Developers Kit as an optional module to develop programs that can control and exchange information within the security management system. The XML Developers Kit allows Symmetry Authorized Resellers and users to create interfaces between the security management system and different software applications despite programming languages or platforms.

Users can perform routine security management system operations from an external program, such as importing or exporting cardholder details, opening doors, switching on CCTV cameras, raising barriers and acknowledging alarms.

Symmetry Building Control Module

Security administrators can control building systems such as HVAC and lighting with AMAG’s optional Building Control module. The Building Control module determines whether an area is occupied or not by monitoring activity at the access control readers and using motion sensors. The Symmetry security management system activates building systems such as HVAC depending on occupancy.

Reducing energy usage can lead to other benefits such as avoiding costly upgrades to HVAC or other systems to cope with increased demand.

Symmetry Directory Sync

The Symmetry Directory Sync optional module allows larger organizations to centralize identity information into an LDAP Directory or Microsoft Active Directory. A full import of all user information from Active Directory can be downloaded into the security management system and updated in real time or on regularly scheduled intervals.

Directory Sync Manager is:

• Easy to use – Update user information easily on the server by using an Active Directory editor to enter a unique employee ID number.
• Frequently updated – Implement a Windows scheduled task to initiate a command file operation to update security management cardholder details from the Active Directory user information.
• Costs reduced – Customers, contractors and new employees no longer have to wait long periods of time for all the systems to be updated and access granted to the applicable areas.
• Administration time reduced – Update one database rather than synchronize two systems with new user data.
• Synchronizing Identity Information – Organize and synchronize identify information.
• Enhanced security – Identity Information throughout the company is up to date and consistent.

Symmetry Threat Level Manager®

Version 6 also includes the Symmetry Threat Level Manager module. In a single step, Symmetry security management system administrators can immediately change the settings of their entire security management system between a choice of five security configurations matched to DHS threat advisory levels. Simply customize each security configuration based on a variety of options. For example, in a “Guarded” threat environment, all card holders could access a particular door using their cards only. When the administrator uses Threat Level Manager to move the Symmetry system to the “Severe” setting, only a select group of card holders can access that same door and are required to provide biometric and/or PIN authentication in addition to presenting their access cards.
