AMAG Technology Hosts 6th Annual Security Engineering Symposium
Torrance, CA, March 12, 2007
– AMAG Technology, a G4Tec company, hosted its 6th annual Security Engineering Symposium at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna
Nigel, California, February 26-28, 2007.
Approximately 75 security engineers and consultants from North America and Internationally
attended AMAG’s engineering symposium. AMAG’s business partners from AXIS Communications,
Bioscrypt, Fargo, HID, NEC/Team 1, IR, Vidient, and Zenitel presented their latest
technology and insight on the industry. Presentations focused around the core challenges
facing security consultants and manufacturers today: convergence, IP cameras/technology,
and video analytics.
AMAG Technology informed audience members about the aggressive advances AMAG has
made in the video arena. This past year, AMAG launched Symmetry Video and Symmetry
ENVS which are deeply integrated with the complete Symmetry Security Management
Product Portfolio.
“AMAG and our partners presented clear, concise information on their latest products,
and provided educational insight from each particular technological point of view,”
said AMAG Technology, Vice President of Sales, Matt Barnette. “The wealth of useful
information exchanged will help them help these industry experts find the best solution
for their customers, and help AMAG engineer the next generation of products to meet their demands.”
Keynote speaker, Dr. Adam C. Thermos, founder of Strategic Technology Group, addressed
the audience about Homeland Security, Digital Communities and Wireless CCTV Applications.
His lecture prompted discussion about how wireless will be used more in the future
and the benefits and disadvantages of the technology.
Break out sessions in smaller groups allowed the consultants to get up close and
personal with each presenting business partner. Consultants could see first hand
how each technology works, and much discussion ensued.
Attendees relaxed after a long day of educational presentations by enjoying a Game
Night. The following day was capped off with an Awards Dinner.
HID
sponsored the 6th Annual Golf Scramble at the Monarch Beach Golf Links. The winning
team included AMAG’s own Marshall Pinnix, Robert Summers, Hughes & Associates,
Bill Sewell, DMJM and Kevin Richmond, URS. This Championship round of golf was highlighted
by a Hole-in-One by Robert Summers.
"This is the best AMAG symposium I've attended yet," said Security Concepts &
Planning's Owner Charlie Howell. "Sitting in smaller groups for the break out sessions
provided a more intimate setting for discussion with the technology partners and
my colleagues. This forum was a wonderful way to learn about the latest technological
advances in an open discussion directly from the manufacturer's engineers of each
product."
“AMAG is a first class company and this event was first class all the way from the
presenters to the location,” said Kroll Schiff & Associates, Inc, Vice President,
Henry Garcia. “As a consultant, I walked away with information on access control,
IP, video analytics, and a good idea about where the industry is heading – all in
a couple of days. I am looking forward to next year.”
